YOU MUST CONTACT ETS INTERNATIONAL TO BOOK YOUR FLIGHT!
ETS is in charge of all SPI flight arrangements and any questions regarding airfare should be addressed to ETS directly.

Flight Overview

All SPI programs have a designated international flight in which other students and an SPI representative will travel on. SPI program directors and teachers will often times arrive at the program site in advance therefore we do not guarantee that your teacher will travel on your exact same flights. Students are expected to be capable of traveling on their own to the international arrival city. SPI uses a high end travel agency, ETS International, for all flight bookings to insure the support needed for our teachers and students.

Booking Your Ticket

Please EMAIL ETS with student's full legal name, program name, program dates, your departure city, special needs (ie. vegetarian), billing contact information (parent name, email, phone, address) to receive your fare quote.

ETS International provides the support needed for students to travel independently including advanced seat assignments, flight monitoring on day of travel, assistance with deviations, changes, misconnects, baggage issues, and after-hours emergency help.  The fee for ETS services is $50 and provides our students and their families peace of mind when traveling abroad.

Fares

Summer is peak travel time and airfare is around $1300-$1800 to Europe/Asia and $500-900 to Latin America depending on your departure city. The best airfares are subject to availability and it is best to book your ticket as soon as possible.

Using Reward Tickets or Miles
Students wishing to use frequent flier miles or reward tickets may do so through ETS International directly. During peak summer travel most airlines require 100,000 miles/points for Europe/Asia travel and 75,000 miles/points for Latin America. Please provide ETS with your Frequent Flier Number and PIN so that they may book your ticket using miles on the designated flights. ETS charges $75 to book all reward tickets as flight monitoring on day of travel must be done manually.

If you do not feel comfortable with ETS booking your ticket using miles, please request that they inform you of the designated flights to book on. You are responsible for providing ETS a copy of your itinerary no later than May 1 and paying the $75 reward ticket booking fee.

Independent Travel Arrangements
SPI charges a $200 fee if you do not book on the designated group flights. You are responsible for sending your itinerary to ETS no later than May 1.

Families Wishing to Meet Their Child Abroad
Due to disruption from the immersion experience, SPI does not encourage parents to visit their child during the program. Travel arrangements and tours to meet your child after the program can be arranged through ETS International.

Custom Programs Flight Information

Some custom programs for closed school groups may have airfare included in the price - please see your school's information on the Custom Programs page.

You are responsible for contacting ETS International by March 1 to book your ticket. Airfare is purchased on your own and is NOT refundable by SPI or ETS due to withdraw or cancellation from the program for any reason.
