SPI Language Immersion Methodology
Our programs and methodology have been crafted by renowned master world language teacher Rose Potter, who founded SPI in 1996. The SPI Immersion Method combines serious academics with meaningful hands-on experiences. The traditional classroom takes a back seat to conversations with locals, exciting activities around the city, and weekend journeys to places where history, art, and culture come to life. Students are enrolled in a foreign university or accredited language school and have the opportunity to earn an official transcript that can be used to petition for college credit. Classes provide advanced language learning in a small group setting and prepare students for making high scores on the AP/IB exams.
High School Language Immersion Programs Work!
Students that participate on intensive language immersion programs (like SPI!) return home steps ahead of their peers. Language classes are normally 3-4 hours per day in the mornings or afternoons followed by afternoon “immersion electives” such as exchanges with local students, sports, outdoor activities, art, cooking, and dance classes all in the language of study.
