What’s Included

On-site Bilingual Directors

SPI “International Moms and Dads” are there for students throughout the entire experience and are available 24 hours a day. They serve as mentors, caregivers, and model immersion students.

 

Tuition and Books

Programs include between 3-4 hours of language and culture instruction M-F at an accredited language institute or foreign university. Books are included in student fees.

 

Room and Board

Students live with a roommate in a caring homestay family. Families are paid to provide 3 meals per day*, laundry service once a week, and linens. Single rooms are available for $200 additional per week.  *Families provide a packed lunch in lieu of a formal meal in Siena, San Sebastian, and Biarritz.

 

Overnight Weekend Excursions

Entrances, hotel, transportation, and teacher guides are included for all cultural excursions. Students see history, art, and architecture come to life as our meaningful excursions take them to some of the country’s most inspiring places. Lunch and dinner are not included on overnight excursions (ie. Madrid, Paris, Rome)

Hotel Accommodations on Overnight Excursions

Students will stay in double or triple rooms at hand selected top-notch 3-4 star hotels at excellent locations. Breakfast is normally included.

 

2-3 Afternoon Elective Activities per Week

Afternoon activities enhance each student’s experience and help immerse them into the local community. Activities vary based on program site as listed on each itinerary. Many additional optional cultural activities will be offered for an additional fee such as theater events, dance courses, surf courses, etc.

Orientation binders are sent shortly after your acceptance into the program. We make sure both parents and students are thoroughly prepared for your experience abroad!

 

Host City Orientation & SPI Travel Smart Briefing

On-site orientation takes place upon arrival onto foreign soil. SPI directors help you learn the ropes of being a smart and safe world traveler.

 

Basic Medical & Travel Insurance

Each student will receive basic medical and travel coverage through their ISIC (International Student Identity Card.)

Spending Money – Estimated $200-250 per week
This estimate includes a budget for:

  • Local Transportation: $40 per week
  • Optional Evening/Afternoon Activities: $40 per week
  • Meals on Overnight Excursions: $50 per week
  • Spending Money: $80-100 per week
